Another poncho

Ok..im going poncho CRAZY!! This is the Lion Brand Groovy Granny Poncho. I ran into a bit of a dilemma at first (had to unravel the whole damn thing) but once my crochet guru (mom) came for a visit and helped me work it out....SMOOTH SAILING!!
i like the color combo my daughter chose..it works up fairly fast.

Ok, i told you about the granny square and poncho obsession....well, let me introduce my very first granny poncho!
I still have to put fringes on..should have those on tomorrow. Im really proud of my coolest creation...All Praises are due!

My mind is whirling!!

Ugghhh... I have sooo many ideas, i cant focus on just one!!!
Im in love with earrings (even though i no longer wear them), the thought of really large, hoopy earrings is just EXCITING!
But NOW...the thought of creating something out of granny squares is driving me NUTZ!! im talking about something other than your typical blanket...im talking ponchos, summer breezy tops, purses....
And to think, i never, ever wanted to make a granny square, but ive stumbled upon soo many pretty patterns..not to mention the lady i saw this weekend w/ a poncho she said belonged to her grandmother.....
Guess ill just start whipping up squares and see where they take me..

Still havent taken a pic of the cute little hat for the little girl at my job, but i do have pix of the last 3 scarfy beenie thingies and new earrings... Enjoy!

Latest adventures in crochet

Well, still working on hats...just finished up 3. Also finished up a few baby items..i always start stuff and not complete it!
Im in the process of working on a few hats for children at my job. I work for a non-profit organization that help at-risk youth, seniors, etc. I work directly with school age children and a lot of them are truly in need!
One little boy had a coat w/ a flimsy hood..no hat and it was in the single digits...so i asked him, "if i make u a hat, would you wear it??"...he said yes! So, im making him a hat!!!
Im following a baby hat pattern Teresa, from the Art of Crochet(crochet geek) has on youtube... Ive altered the chain count for a larger head. Will post pix when im done......
In the meantime, check out the ones ive completed...

EARRINGS!

Ive been on a roll and pretty obsessed over those hoopy earrings.
So far i have 3 designs..but i ran out of hoops!

Been makin maaad hatz!!!

Still trying to get used to blogging...i remembered today.
Since my last post, ive been strung out on tunisian crochet and making hoopy earrings.
Sooo...my eldest son is on the robotics team at his school, so i made a hat for him to rep his team tomorrow at the 2012 kickoff event...im gonna give the children a choice of 2 styles so they can have unique hats for competition. Last year they were fortunate enough to make it to the regional competition and let me say those teams were lit up w/ every color of the rainbow. It was really cool!
