IM BAACK...again

OMGeez...things have been loopy for me for the last few months.
We celebrated the grand opening of the 14th Street Artist Community and boy was it fun!!!! It was a labor of love and my very 1st successfull planned event...eventho Im not an event planner. We had high hopes that everything would trun out okay..from performers showing up to the weather. Couldnt ask for a better turnout. The 100 people that "R.S.V.P'd" on facebook actually showed up...the performers were FANTASTIC..the weather was perfect!!!
Since my last bloggin visit, Ive been added to a great group on facebook...the Handmade Collective. These sistas ROCK!! Great energy, beautiful handmade works..positive people.
Theres only so much time in a day to create (for me). I work outside of the home as well as inside. Not to mention the 2yr  old and kitten that desire attention and like to assist in the crochet process....I soooo need a space JUST FOR ME!!!
In the weeks to come, I shall prepare more hats for the homeless as well as try to crank out some items to sell at the upcoming artisan markets.

i dont think i like displaying/craft fairing....i hate having to set up nd break down. for some reason, i enjoy doing it more with the hubbys artwork than i do for my own craft. call me crazy!!!
the first official crafty exhibit ive been involved in since i decided to take it seriously and for the most part it was ok...we had a minor set back because the vendors were away from the "action", but they quickly moved us to accomodate...
perhaps ill give it another go before i call it quits...
good news.....hubby was blessed to acquire a space to display his art FULLTIME as well as curate shows for fellow artists. its large enough to have retail space which means.....wait for it.....LADEEBUG CREATIONS WILL HAVE A PERMANANT HOME!!!! wooohooooo.... its not that i will take up much space, so..this is gonna be great. i will use the next few weeks designing new ear candy and a few bags for display nd sale at the up and coming 14 Street Artist Community. i cant wait!!

Success!!!

LadeeBug Creations was a hit at Global Warmth!!! I sold 4 pair nd the set (earrings/bracelet)...not bad considering not a lot of people came out. Was expecting a much larger crowd...but as hot as it was, im happy anyone came out!
Since then ive made a few more earrings....i must say, im on a roll!!

Not only have i switched hours at work, ive been pretty busy cranking out new earrings for the next installment of Global Warmth..the listening party that embraces us all..
Global Warmth is my brothers bany.. Hes nurtured this dj spin into a mature visual and performing arts explosion...this time, i will display and sell my wares. So i have come up with all new earrings..wire & thread...and im excited. Heres what ive been up to...enjoy!

hey, y'all!!! im not really good with the blogging thing...i have, however, been busy crochetin (between being a mom/ wife and enjoying a vacation from work)!!
ive finished up a shawl for a coworker, a purse for my moms lil church lady friend as well as new earring designs. and have i mentioned how much i adore the Doily Top Cover Up by Gu'Chet??? im sure i have...because i LOVE that pattern!! i have just put the final touches on yet another one...a special request for a very good friend...she likey the rasta colors..
also, i bought a new book!!! the Double Stitch twins are amazing with their gift of crochet design!! Double Stitch: DESIGNS FOR THE CROCHET FASHIONISTA is an groovy book chocked full of jazzy patterns!! im still thumbing through it to see which item to make..as well as praying for the patience to pull it off. some patterns are a bit easier for me to sit and concentrate on...others...eh...i can do without!
another deciding factor is....how will this look on a fluffy sista like myself?? lol.. or ill try to think about a more slender woman with a lil edge..who likes unique things...

oh, i almost forgot about the granny purse i made...it has a longer strap because my diva has been dying for a purse with the long strap to throw over..so i made one for "us"..we'll see who actually uses said purse.
unfortunately, i havent done really good in the photography dept. this time around...i must get better..i do, however have a few pix of a few items ive been working on since my last visit...check em out, enjoy....ill check back in a few...

its official...

since spring has officially sprung, i guess i have to come up with an alternative to brims and beanies. ive been on a jewelry kick throughout the winter (what little bit of winter we had) so i guess ill have to hard or go home!!
time to break out the hemp and hoops, wire and beads! thinking about working on a few purses as well...i guess ill just play it by ear.
this is a good season to try some of those cool patterns the Double Stitch Twins have to offer..or work on more Doily Top Cover Ups by Guchet.
actually i made one not long ago...and i finally got my "model" to display it for me (its hard getting her to try stuff on and pose for the camera, but no problem for her to try it on and take it home!).

New poncho...

Im sooo loving the ponchos. Ive gotten rave reviews on the last one...
So...im on a roll!! I still have to complete the black/ royal blue one...but ive started on a "shades of brown" poncho and this one may have a hard time making out the house (in the hands of another). Brown is my color!!!! Dont get me wrong...i adore orange, purple (even tho i wont wear it...IT MAKES ME LOOK LIKE BARNEY!)..but brown is an all time fave.
