Hi...

Been a bit busy with orders, but i took a day off to teach a few youngsters the art of crochet. Twas my mothers idea to start this 6 hr crash course...she brought hooks, needles, pizza, my niece nd 2 little cousins.
In the midst of the melee, i noticed she had several afghan hooks...so i begged until i got one ( considering they pretty much bombarded my house w/ whatnots for 6 hrs)...i felt it was only fair.
Since picking up the hook nd googling "tunisian crochet", i havent been able to put it down!
So as i create, i notice the rows ive made resemble the ones used to form the Masa Bag(a Ravelry find)..and since the stitches are soo tight....it was perfect!!!
Although my current project is supposed to be a miscellaneous blanket(lapghan), i couldnt help but fold it to see what it would look like as the Masa....
I will continue w/ my blanket, but as soon as i come up w/ the perfect color combo for the Masa, i will snatch that hook out nd begin!!!

Ive been slackin...

But not on my crocheting.. Ive been relatively busy hookin away on a few projects and making sure i catch up with folks to give them their products before winter break.

Got yarn?!?!

Ok, someone donated some yarn to my "cause".....im making hats for the homeless and at-risk youth i work with...anywho, its obviously been in the basement for a while.
After googling "how to remove musty smell from yarn", i washed a coupla skeins in the machine and set a few outside in the sun...
WELL... washing works...BUT... Make sure you wrap TIGHTLY with rubberbands or your yarn will turn out like this....

Yep, last night, i finished yet another scarfy beenie thingy!!
I have a headache..not sure when ill start crocheting for the day..we will see.

Had another order to complete and i have to say it came out very nice.
Made another "Kool Rock Ski" or as i call it... Scarfy Beenie Thingy... Black, purple and white.........nice!

Whats funny about the "Kool Rock Ski" is in the book, she has all female models...the majority of the folks requesting them from me are men. So i make the scarf part wider..the skinny ones look feminine.

Tomorrow i have another one to work on but will try some earring patterns too. Will let u know how they turn out.

Today was a good day..

Ive been crocheting for a few years.. I have a brim to match almost everything i own, but today folks made me feel special!
Now,after showing off pix of the hat i made for my daughter, folk are coming out of the woodwork wanting me to make something!
BEAUTIFUL.....

ok..i recently purchased Get Your Crochet On by Afya Ibomu and i have to tell you....SHES AWESOME! i only wish i could design...
i can, however, follow a pattern and am primarily a mad hatter (im all about promoting head coverings..1 Corinthians 11:5). i will create baby blankets nd accessories, jewelry...but HATS are my thing!
